Kalpana Chawla was the first Indian woman to go to space in 1997. Now , Indian origin Andhra Pradesh born Sirisha Bandla is going to be the Second Indian Woman to fly into space with virgin's Richard Branson.

     Sirisha Bandala belonging from Andhra's Guntur district , brought up in Houston will become the second woman if Indian origin to fly into space. She will be flying with UK billionaire and founder of virgin Galatic company Richard Branson on July 11.She will be one of the six space travellers aboard 'VSS Unity' of Virgin galactic. Sirisha will handle researcher's experience on the unity mission.

According to Virgin Galactic , Sirisha Bandala will be evaluating the human-tended research experience , using the experiment from the University of Florida that requires severals handheld fixation tubes that will be activated at various points in the flight profile

About Sirisha Bandala:

Sirisha completed her B.Sc in aerospace, aeronautical and astronautical engineering in 2011 from Purdue University. 
She pursued her  MBA from George Washington University in 2015.
She joined Virgin Galactic after completing her studies and currently she is the Vice President of Government affairs at the British American spaceflight company.
