For the development of  less developed district of Uttar Pradesh , an important expressway project of state government is going to be completed in the end of this year.  This expressway is being developed in the Bundelkhand region. Bundelkhand region of UP includes backwards districts like Banda, Chitrakoot , Jalaun and Hamirpur. So , the purpose of this expressway root is to develop these districts by connecting the regions to Delhi through Agra - Lucknow expressway and Yamuna expressway. This is one of the most ambitious project of the government which was started in February 2020 by honorable PM Narendra Modi. 

Bundelkhand expressway will be excess controlled like Purvanchal expressway , which is being constructed by Uttar Pradesh Expressways industrial Development authority. for its construction , Four major infrastructure companies like - APKO infratech , Ashoka Buildcon , Gawar construction and Dilip Buildcon is involved. 

This expressway is being constructed on the concept of  'Forgiving Roads' and it is going to be one of the safest expressways of the country. These forgiving roads are made to minimize the harm of traffic extents. For this , Policemen will be trained to deal with accidents or any such issues on this expressway. Road - side food corners , small repairing shops and fuel shops near the expressways will be provided with emergency care to safeguard the life of injured persons if accidents happen.

This root is 296 km long which starts at Bharatkoop of Chitrakoot district and terminates at Kudrail in Etawah district which is located at Agra - Lucknow expressways. The expressway will pass through Chitrakoot , Banda , Mahoba , Hamirpur , Jalaun , Auraiya and Etawah districts. This root will cross above 8 rivers - Bagen , Ken , Shyama , Chandawal , Birma , Yamuna , Betwa , Sengar. 



The Bundelkhand region is going to get benefitted from this expressway as it will connect this underdeveloped but highly cultural and tourism rich areas with mainstream cities. Chitrakoot has huge tourism scope but due to poor connectivity it never utilized. These construction will surely give a boost to the tourism sector.
